Fod was one of our poorer presidents. He did very little to help the economy, his WIN program (Whip Inflation Now) diod virtually nothing, plus he pardoned Richard Nixon of all crimes and misdemeanors for which he could of and should have been tried and imprisoned. He was our only president who was never elected to either president OR vice president. Remember he was appointed Vice President in 1973 when Spiro Agnew was forced to resign in disgrace.
A nice man but not a very impressive chief executive.

I am saddened by the news
I am a life long Democrat--had some serious problems with a lot of what President Ford believed and did---but I do believe him to have been a genuinely Good man at heart !! And that is somewhat unique for me to be saying about a Republican !!
My biggest problem with him was his pardon of Richard Nixon in the Watergate thing-- thought all along that Nixon should have been FORCED into the public disgrace of his actions !!
However, I think the world is somewhat a lesser fulfilled place tonight without this dedicated leader !!!

He picked up the pieces of Richard Nixon's scandal-shattered White House as 38th President. Not many would have stepped forward to deal with that kind of mess Nixxon left. He also granted him pardon and ended the Vietnam war. One of the very few good Presidents we ever had. God rest his soul.

I think he did a good job at healing the rift that our country was going through at the time. I remember those days well. He was respected by many in both parties. RIP,President Ford.

No, thanks, I hadn't heard the news. Wow! It didn't seem like he could be 93.
I thought he was a gentleman and was a good representative for the USA even though there were weakests during his leadership. I liked him and it makes me feel sad that he is gone.
