I have a reconditioned Mitsubishi Eterna from Japan, and the ECU needs replacing. I am not sure how much a new one would cost and how long it will last if I replaced it. Chasis No is E54A-0007894
Engine No - 6A-AC1026, Year 1993.

One thing that kills them is running the engine with a failed battery, you get a lot of voltage spikes that can swamp the regulator and fry the works.

i own a repair shop, and i usually go to a junk yard and see if they got a good used one before i buy a new one,,there always cheaper there about 50 bucks is usually what they charge for a good one,,and they,ll last as long as a new one usually will,i have never had any problems from any of them at all you might find one for your car also,,i have seen new ones go out in less than a year on brand new cars,,and i have seen some last 25 years also..,good luck hope you find one,,happy new years.

Properly cooled, cushioned, and protected from fiddling; the ECU/ECM will last forever. Mileage does not matter.

Heat, vibration, and static discharge from being touched are what kill these little guys.
