How you use your free time depends on what goals you set for yourself. The goals themselves, depends on your age and what you consider important in life. A young person may have plans of getting a better job- which may mean learning a new skill, going to school part time. Likewise someone who is into fitness would love to go running 5 miles every day, or swim. If being a better golf player is important, then practice golf. If helping the community makes you happy- then do it by volunteering, as someoen said. An older person might just want to enjoy momements with their grandchildren. "So time is like money, and goals are the things you buy with it!"

Quilting is a great hobby. It is a relaxing and creative way to spend the time.
Reading the autobiographies of the last 42 Presidents of the United States would be a worthwhile pasttime.
Watching Oprah Winfrey, burning CD's or camping it up on MySpace or uTube are all viable ventures.
Have fun!

You can do lots of things in your spare time.... pick up a new hobby, go to the gym, volunteer.... Every chance I get I am volunteering at my local Fire department. You often don't need to be certified to work at one, and if you do, they often pay for training and equipment... it helps keep you in shape, you learn new things, and you can really help make a difference in your community.
