It's a very convoluted story about a Danish prince whose uncle kills his father (the king) and marries his mother. It involves a ghost, incest, unmarried pregnancy (which by the way is never directly discussed), betrayal, etc. if you can get past the difficult English, it's a great story.Mel Gibson did a film version of hamlet about 10 years age. You should check it out

An even better question is "Is Hamlet 19 or 33?" Both questions have no answer, it is fully debatable, and the world will never know! My personal opinion? He is not crazy, he just had moments of temporary insanity in the quest to get over his father's death and come to terms with his life.

Prince Hamlet bitterly opposed the marriage of his mother, Gertrude, to Claudius, her own brother-in-law, so soon after her husband's death. Moreover, Hamlet had a strange suspicion that the new king - his stepfather and former uncle - had somehow plotted his father's mysterious demise, and he refused to cease mourning his natural father, now two months dead.

Hamlet is a prince. His father died and he believes his mother is dating again too soon and he believes the person she's dating is corrupt and trying to take over Denmark. He sets up a play to get him to confess. Hamlet falls in love with Ophelia (the future king's daughter) and Ophelia dies by drowing herself after her father dies. Hamlet dies in the end by letting himself be poisoned after his mother dies by drinking poison. The play is modeled after a lover Shakespeare had.
