My first pregnancy was really stressful. i vomitted all day, everyday for the full nine months. i had morning sickness all day basically, i had a serious loss of appetite, and most of the time, just the thought alone of food made me sick. i was never anorexic or bullemic in my life. so i lost a lot of weight and got very weak and light headed a lot. my prenatal vitamins made me even sicker, because i could not hold down any food or water, i vomitted everything up ithing seconds. only in the last to or three months it got a little better. the baby was fine though. she was 8lbs at birth. she is almost 2 now and has brought so much love and happiness into my family's life! i am considering another baby to keep her comapny, but i am afraid to get pregnant again and be sick for another nine months. has anyone had similar experiences and would like to share them with me? how did your subsequent pregnancy go? was it the same or better? please let me know. thanks!

I was sick as a dog with my daughter and mostly fine with my son.

Sounds like you had hyperemisis with your first. let your midwife know this and she will probably be able to help you the next time.

Another tactic that worked when pregnant with my daughter; I could really only keep down certain foods, so i ate A LOT of cheerios (lol!)

First I'd suggest you not set yourself up to be "crushed". You, better than anyone, know that things happen sometimes that interfere with ones wishes. You should feel as if you're going to try your best to BF your second baby for a year and if you can just imagine how happy you'll be. If you begin to face some of the same, or even different, issues with the second baby at the first indication you may want to pump more often that usual to conserve your energy as well as to keep producing it. That way Baby will get the benefits of your breast milk without so much pressure on you to perform, if you will. You mustn't worry about bonding either, cuddling the baby is very effective as I'm sure you know. Best of luck with your second baby. Enjoy because they're tiny for so short a time.

everyone says that each pregnancy is different. i haven't had any morning sickness so far... I do gag at weird smells and some foods... try taking your prenatal vitamins at night and keep some crackers on you at all times... it supposed to help with the morning sickness. I used to keep crackers by my bed, when i had a feeling of vomiting I just ate some crackers.... good luck!

My pregnancies were always very similar and most people's are. It's likely you will have morning sickness wwith this one too. However, I have met people who were ill with one pregnancy and not at all with the other - or very ill with one and barely nauseous with the other. At least this time, you will be better prepared to deal with the nausea. Meet with your OB/GYN to work out a plan to deal with the nausea when/if it arrives and stock up on all your tricks/favorite foods and remedies for nausea beforehand. With that kind of nausea, you should consider medication for nausea like possibly zofran.

All pregnancies are different, but it is very common to have similar symptoms with each one.
