I have tried different burning software but it still won't work. It is a brand new laptop.

How do you tell if it is a +/- drive

Is your drive capable of burning DVD's? It may be a DVD player and CD-RW burner....

Probably your DVD-RW drive is not good any more, or you need to re-install your operating system... You can use a tool called "PC-Doctor", this software can test everything in your PC, IT IS COOOOOOL...

if it's a -rw drive it won't work with +rw disks. that's the first thing you should check

probaly because if you are tring to make copies there are copy write codes on it to ovewrite them google any dvd for a 21 day trial.

check if your dvd-rw drive is for + & - dvd . cd
