It dose rather depend on exactly which branch of the economy you are referring to.All industry and manufacturers these days try very hard to have the environment in mind in the processing of their goods.Certainly in central Europe there are not many heavy industries left which pollute the environment in the way they did some decades ago.Although Europe is still dependent on such industries as car manufacturing, the emissions from these plants, after being treated with `clean up` agents ;are not considered to be in them selves too much of a danger to the environment. Much of the industrial impact is evened out by the effect of the agricultural use of land in Europe, especially the further east you go.Much of Europes` industry no longer exists, this is why there is so much unemployment especially in the eastern regions.
