Animal rights. Go to the peta site and you can pick anything from simple catagories like companion animals rights to big topics like live exporting of sheep from austrailia to the middle east where there are no animal rights and the animals are cut up while still alive. You can pick something little like reasearching which companies do not test on animals, or something big, like lobbying for changes in laws.

Research a career as a "personal mediator".
What entails a career as a "personal mediator?"
Defined, this means that your job would be assist to 2 or more people in finding resolution - whereby each party has a disagreement . Sometimes a "personal mediator" is asked to make a sole final decision.
Here's the way it works. For example, 2 persons, say a mother and daughter, are having a serious disagreement. Each agrees to hire a "personal mediator" to make a binding agreement. The mother and daughter agree that whatever the mediator's final decision is regarding the situation... this decision will be final and resolve the disagreement.
NOTE: a "personal mediator" should not be confused with an attorney or a company mediator. A "personal mediator" only helps on a person to person level. A company mediator (or business mediator) resolves conflict with companies, govenrments, etc..
What makes investigating such a career interesting, is that most people aren't aware this option exists. And, I feel, many people would not put trust in such a person because of egos that are inherently untrusting. For such a career to be lucrative, a person would have to have a reputation of being good with others and a reputation of being fair.
Let's say, their was a degree in "personal mediation" - the degree wouldn't mean much as the quality of a persons character.

I did a paper once on dream analysis. I started out wanting to do nightmares, but I didn't find enough stuff. That was a while back though and there might be more on it today.
