there not , the point of the comercial is would you do something that dumb just because your friends are doing it. Drugs are pointless along those lines. They are kinda saying if your friends jumped off a bridge would you?

Leeches For Kids

The commercial you saw was an anti-drug spot. Leeches are used here to parody drug use. It's sort of like when they used to say "if everyone jumped off a cliff, would you do it?" They're protraying drug use as both ugly and peer-motivated. The problem with this comparison is that leeches (as far as I know) do not produce an altered state of mind as most drugs do.

Leeches suck fluids out of their hosts. The medical benefit depends on where you stick the leech. For example, if you placed a leech on a swollen, infected wound, the pressure might be relieved.

My guess is that kids are either trying to use the leeches to suck out pimples or they just want to gross out their parents.

All that is, is proof that the anti-drug commercials are the stupidest ones out there. Not that the message is bad, but boy are they annoying.

That's not true. It's an analogy. Like, don't use drugs just because "everyone else is doing it".

EDIT: It's an anti-drug commercial

that is just a commercial saying would you do it if everyone else did it referring to how stupid drugs are... as if the leech were the drug.

i dont think that was really real......i think they were just comparing it to kids resorting to anything for a high and using it in an anti drug commercial
