With every advance we make we kill ourselves much more quickly. Look at all the disease we can "cure" look at the rate they infect. Women are less likely in most developed countries to die of childbirth, however look at the rates of ovarian and cervical cancer. We have indoor plumbing and electricity and heat which is nice. Look at what the earth pays for it though.

In any time, place or circumstance you have the power within to choose how you react. You can be happy and thankful for life under the worst of circumstances, or miserble even if you have all of the creature comforts life can offer. Why are so many rich and famous people miserable drug addicts? Why are some of the poorest of the poor who renounce material things some of the happiest? The late Mother Teresa comes to mind here, as well as others who are in touch with their higher, spiritual selves. It is within our own individual power to choose happiness, despite our circumstances, despite what seems to be outside of our individual power.

You can look at it like this... It can't get much worse.....so if you know that for sure then it can be a good time- bc things have to get better from here, they have to go up, life has ups and downs and this can just be one of those really bad down's.

Um that's just not true. Things can and will get worse especially if people think they don't have to do anything to make things better. And personally my life sucks. It could be worse though, but I haven't found a way to make it better.

It's your choice to be happy or sad, to live in the past or presence. I personally choose to be happy and live in the presence.
