I agree with the first guy. Ghost are demons, demons can take any form, I do not think a God, being almighty would, let the dead hang around, even if they had unfinished business to attend to. Demons are fallen angels and have the same power as Angels do. They like to inhabit places were a traumatic event took place. This is called a territorial stronghold. Usually called hauntings. "Stronghold" Greek strong's fortress, or prison-fortified place. 2 Cor 10:3-5. Remember the story of the Gergesene Demoniacs in Matt 8:28-34. (Mark 5:1-20, Luke 8:26-39) If you’re not religious, you may want to read it. This territory had a stronghold of demons over it, not to mention one man (Personal stronghold-possession) who had a legion of demons in him. Mark 5:9. Jesus freed the man, and in so doing freed the territory of its stronghold/haunting. When the demons went into the swine, the demons did not like the swine, so they drown the swine, this also killed the pigs that the Pagan worshippers used to sacrifice to their God's and killed that business off as well. Jesus healed the land and killed the Pagan worshipping (they used the pigs to sacrifice for food for their god’s) business for a time. My point is, demons are Ghosts and dead people are not.

Omigoodnes, yes! And anyone who says no is just lying to themselves. There are WAY too many unexplained experiences.

I have never SEEN a ghost, but we have had instances in our home when lights have turned on and off by themselves, our grandfather clock's pendulum all of a sudden stopped moving, then started back up again. Once we put our leftovers from dinner in the fridge. We went to go look for them, and they were sitting on the hood of our car in the garage! Our house is extremely secure, so there is NO way it was a break-in or anything...

When my grandmother died recently, about 10 minutes after it happened, I was so in shock and weak that I had to lean up against the wall. In that instance, I felt a hand on my waist. I thought it was a family member helping me out, but alas, there was NOBODY there...

I just can't believe that there is nothing beyond this life. There are too many paranormal events that occur to brush it aside. And what, are millions of people who have claimed to see ghosts or experience paranormal activity LYING!? I don't think so! :)

yes, ghosts are real. let me tell you about the time that a spirit, or more specifically, "God," helped me.

Ok, so i'm a high school student. I had misplaced my flute, and remembered bringing it home from school that day. I put it on my dresser. The next morning it was gone! Although it appeared to disappear into thin air, I knew some supernatural force had moved it. I prayed to God that it was at school. The next day, the shelf where I usually left it was empty! I was filled with despair. But as soon as i turned to leave, i almost screamed in delight. there, on the trumpet shelf, was my flute. it seemed almost untouched, as it was cold. the strangest thing was, over break it did not collect dust on its fine surface! i knew somehow that God answered my prayer.

As the answers here so far demonstrate, there are too many definitions of ghosts. There are definitely forces though, beyond our reckoning. Most people cannot see or feel them because their minds will not accept it, but that does not mean they are not there (we block out traumatic events, don't we?)... I'm not saying I can define them... but I see and hear and feel them enough to know there is something. Some are more persistent than others.

Ghost, goblins, aliens, pink elephants, gremlins, are all different manifestions of the same spirits they are the demons of the bible and they seek to deceive man. satan masquerades as an angel of light and he tells some he is a ghost or a fairy or an alien or whatever he can to get them to believe him! He is a liar, he is really a fallen angel, not a god.

I encourage you to investigate some of the goings on in the spirit world that is all around us and is usually unseen and unknown to us.

There's a well known spirit medium named Derek Acorah that has shared many stories through his well publicised tv programs and published books.

Personally, I have absolutely no doubt of their existence!

I grew up in a house that is haunted by an 'entity'... reasonably friendly, but fairly active. The new owners experience some of the same activity we always did too.

A couple of years after my father passed, he appeared in my home and told me my mom was going to be okay (she had been very ill). My husband saw and heard him too.

Many years later, a neighbor saw my mom standing in front of her home several months after he'd heard she died and was so startled he called to see if he'd heard wrong.

I think I have good reason to be a believer! lol

yes they are real i have had more than one sighting in a dorm room in boarding school like my small shoe box with mail in it fly across the room and locking my door and when i know when my room is empty you can both hear and feel something pounding one the door and hear foot steps come done a small flight of stares to a small room with now where to go then when it reaches the bottom it disappears

there are spirits, poltergeists, apparitions, and the things that people call ghosts are ether memories of a violent death or demons trying to fool people into believing their not seeing what they think they are.
