Is there a Reason there is no Canadian Auto Maker?

Is there a particular reason the US has so many and Canada has none?

Probably because US automakers have plenty of their plants in Canada already.

Maybe because Canada has about 5 - 10 main roads in the entire country?

I guess it would be that Canada has a colder climate and the fiberglass and metal on cars would freeze or break.
