What is romantic love? One of the questions all of us have in the back of our minds. Is romantic love required and is a necessecity in a happy, fulfilling life? I believe not so since happiness can be fulfilled in numerous ways and love happens to be in the midst of life.
But in my opinion, love is the key. The key to the source of a fulfilling life. Now, romantic love? That is, I believe, the numerous steps of love in which most of us face throughout our life.

Have you ever seen a really old married couple? They're like 90 and been married since their teens (a little exageration, but you get the point). Do you see the way they look at each other? Do you see the deep loving and understanding in their eyes??? Do you know what that is? It's not physical, romantic love... that was gone a long time ago... these people delved into one another's souls and became one. That love that you see is the love that comes about by a deep understanding and trust.

No, not so much. It would be nice, but doesn't always happen for everyone for whatever reason. Sometimes if romantic love goes wrong, it can even ruin a life.
A connectedness to something though is necessary, whether it be your friends, family, church, volunteering or pets.

To fullfill one's life, he/she must experience it. Thus, there is a reason that poets write of love and the saying "It is better to have loved and lost, then to never have loved at all." One must experience it in order to have a fullfilled life. Also for those with the older aunt who is happy to travel and be alone, I would suggest that she most likely experienced love, but was probably gay. Not that anything is wrong with that.

No, not for everyone! Some people prefer to be alone. I have an aunt who is in her eighties. She's never been married or had kids. She's enjoyed spending all her time spoiling her nieces and nephews, travels alot, and loved her job before she retired. She's never lonely because she has other interests that keep her busy. Hope this helps!

I definitely think so. I don't think it is enough to just love someone and to just care about there well being. I believe that without romantic love you will always fill that there is something missing.

YES! True love does extraordinary things. When you truly love someone, the grand gestures of romance come as natural expressions of your inner feelings. A fulfilling life is one that makes you feel appreciated. Romantic love leaves no room for confusion that you impacted someone else life and that someone appreciated YOU.
