+Bleach- is a really great anime, action, drama and some comedy.
+Fruits Basket-a really good series, its funny, filled with romance and it will make you cry, laugh until your sides hurt and move you. (The manga is even better!)
+Azumanga daioh-the story of several friends adn their jounrey through their high school years (funny)
+Pretear-it balances tons of comedy, romance and a wonderful story
+Samurai X OVA's-very serious, but very good, is bloody though...
+Yu-Yu-Hakusho-has some funny moments and is a really great series.

why? it too popular people are so frikin gaga about it people are somehow affected in there lives!!! it has a mysterical influence that no one can explain. if i were you stay away from it and keep safe.

but if you really want good anime go for a collection of all CLAMP anime...

Cromartie High School watch it its so funny definetley one of the best comedy anime i have ever seen even though it is a bit weird at times.
