I have a 99 Chevy Cavalier which has 85K miles on it. The only maintenance I've done on it have been preventive maintenance such as routine oil changes and tire rotations and nothing else. Any advice will be appreciated! ~ Wayne

i own a repair shop, and your going to need a new set of spark plugs,,maybe wires also,,look at them, and decide,,also a new gas filter ,and a new air filter,,always change the oil also when doing a good tune up.also a grease gun might be handy here also,,there's a few things in the front end you can grease,,other than that look at all the belts real good ,and make sure there alright clean all the things that need to be cleaned out real good ,and just do a general look over ,and if you see something loose tighten it up,,and that should be it,,test drive it,and make sure its OK,,that's about it,,good luck hope this help,s.,happy new years.

Sell it! Lol just kidding. A few things you need to be checkin at this point, suspension parts {struts, springs, rack and pinion etc} the pads / shoes on the brakes. Usually at about 75,000 I would change the plugs, but most cars now say do it at 100,000 best bet is to check the owners guide for it's recomendations.

I'd say every 5th or 6th time you change your oil go ahead and change your spark plugs, spark plug wires, air filter it might be a bit over kill but better than killing your car. Oh and bout every 3rd time you change your oil add a bottle of Lucus oil treatment it is great for engines believe me

I would give it a tune up every 8th oil change or 25,000 miles. That is overprotective but is a small thing to do to keep your car running optimally.

It might not be a bad idea to get a tune up soon, especially if you're going to be in for a cold winter where you live.
