No male at all? As in she's never mated? I don't know. She may if you provide the right environment, but she would normally release the eggs during the mating ritual. In which case, you should leave the male with the eggs and remove the female immediately. He will take care of the eggs and hurt the female if she hangs around.

It is perfectly normal. A female will produce eggs and the male comes along and picks them up and fertilizes them in him mouth and blows them into a bubblenest. If you choose this to happen, remove her to a private area and obtain a male to do this. Breeding bettas successfully requires some extra hard work. You cannot keep them together as the male will typically kill another betta. Good Luck

i guess u bought a pregnant fish
but if u have the betta for a long time and before the eggs came maybe the tank is just dirty and/or something fell in.
if you have multiple female bettas then dont assume ones a male right away.
there is a big difference between a male and female betta

Yes, I've seen them do it a few times. Sometimes they release eggs if they get spooked and sometimes they seem to do it just for the heck of it. She'll usually eat the eggs that were dropped. She's perfectly normal you've got nothing to worry about.

*Starting a mustard gas crowntail spawn tomorrow wish me luck ^_^

Yes that is normal if she was gravid (with eggs). It doesn't happen very often as females typically won't become gravid unless a male is around.

But it's possible that she was gravid when you got her and since no male is there she just dropped her eggs.
