Someone mentioned the Boardwalk Hotel....this will be VERY cheap to stay at since it no longer exists!!!! You know Vegas, we blow up hotels left and right to make way for new stuff!

Go for the Casino Royale, try the Sahara, Hooters, or the Monte Carlo.

Check out this links to some cheap hotels:

Depends what kind of hotel you want. Excalibur, Straotsphere, tropicana are all very inxpensive but are a little on the run-down and shabby side. I think the best value goes to the Flamingo as the room sare still reasonable and you can get the true VEgas expericence at their pool.

In October, I stayed at the Tropicana in an upgraded room for less than $50 a night. I think you get the best deals directly through the hotel websites themselves. I have heard the Excalibur has rates comparable to the Trop's sometimes.
good luck.....

Try the Barbary Coast right across from Ceasars, Bellagio, Monte Carlo and next to Flamingo. Incredible location and cheap nice rooms. Old school casino and good rates cheap drinks.

If you are just looking for a place to rest your head that has a tremendous location, check out the casino royale. It is center strip, a 3 star hotel, and very inexpensive for the location.

The cheapest hotels are usually Circus Circus, or the Stratosphere. Sometimes Tropicana runs a deal, but if you are looking to stay on New Years or any other major holiday, you are not going to find any bargains.

the cheapest hotel on the strip is the boardwalk. it is in a prime location and it's a holiday inn. I've stayed there once and it is ok. it is right in the middle of the strip.
