geotrax: how do i turn the train off so it doesn't wear out the battery??

i got my son geotrax for xmas. the remote control and trains are left on and i dont know if there is a way i can turn them off so the batteries arenet worn out. it's been only a day, and one of the trains batteries are dead already.

as long as the wheels aren't turning they will turn off on their own in a few minutes. You just have to make sure you push the button on the top or it will start all over. Some times when we put every thing back in tub a lever will get bumped and one of the trains will start. So now i put the trains in one tub and the remotes in another. Yes my daughter has a lot of them, she loves them.
