There is no crisis- get some real information.
Where did you get your numbers? Thats absolutely the stupidest thing I've ever heard. There are 8 billion people on earth now. To get 38 billion in 5 generations means that every couple on earth would have to have at least 4 children, and all of them would have to survive to have another 4. That just isn't happening.
The population WOULD be that large, if the population growth from the industrial revolution had continued. Thats when many countries reached their peak. In industrialized countries, current growth is holding just about steady- I believe the average birth rate is 2.3 children per couple. Some countries, mainly european countries (I'm 99% sure germany and france are among them) are actually experiencing negative growth- ie, the populations are shrinking.
Non industialized countries are still experiencing population growth, but experts say that once the country is industrialized, that will taper off. After all, large families are good for helping out doing work around the house and farm.

This is not gonna happen! The Earth will protect herself before man can kill her. Ebola is a mild example, wonder what else she has kept a secret?
When she's uncomfortable things happen that are bad for human civilization, like too much methane from beef production, and fluorocarbons released into the atmosphere, as well as automobile exhaust causes her to heat up and she cools off by increasing her air movement...hurricanes and tsunamis are the result.Katrina was just a baby.
Over population would probably cause too much vibration on her skin and severe earth quakes and volcanic eruptions would be a result. As well we would starve each other to death no doubt.

Have you read "population explosion" by paul ehrlich? If you haven't and are really interested in this topic then you should definitely look into it.
The problem with the population increase is that it is mostly among the least educated people in the world. Therefore, it results in vastly greater numbers of uneducated people who then have more kids themselves. The problem feeds on itself as education is thought to be the best method of controlling population increase.
People are very protective of their reproductive rights. Only authoratarian regimes like China's have the capability to force people to reduce the number of children they can have.
You can't ask people to stop and you can't tell them to so it's going to just keep going and going until natural disasters or manmade ones take care of the problem like tsunamis, earthquakes, hurricanes, and etc. But, these are just localized disasters, when population increases to the point it has there will be world-wide calamities due to pollution and war.

The growth of the world's population likely will not continue at the same rate. By some estimates, it will level off in 50 years.

I feel that nature itself will deal with the problem. Look at the amount of people dying of AIDS, famine and war right now. If it expands or gets worse, that will take care of a significant amount of the population.
Governments cannot feasibly tell people not have children or limit the amount one has; It's against human rights. Sterilization is out of the question and a discussion in itself, so that's why I think mother nature will take care of it in her own way.

Im not sure about your statistics, but i heard that 8 billion would overwhelm the earth. Currently there are 6 billion people. What you are trying to describe is called a Malthusian Catastrophe. Im not sure about any solutions yet...

They made a Sci-Fi movie in 1968 or 69 called "Soylent Green"
which was very interesting and way ahead of its time. It explores
the situation with an interesting twist. If U can find it, rent it
i don't want to ruin it by telling to much. It covers the food short-
age part which is very possible at the rate things are going.

The current best solution is a bit barbaric. Stop attempting to prevent all wars(except WWIII), plagues, famine and STD's and follow the Chi-Coms in simply castrating the orphans(which I am against, but you asked for solutions). Thoeroretically, it should slow or stop population growth
Or you can simply stop having sex; the 100% surefire method to preventing pregnancy.

one might think this odd, but regardless of your religous or cultural ethics, natural selection is a big part of population control. serial killings, abortion, war, suicide, lack of cures for simple illnesses, plagues, and divine intervention appears to do a good job of controlling population. even though we are living longer, mortality rates are not in equality with popluation. a little more research may find more understandable answers. know this, mother earth will not be pushed into having to make accomadations for more than she can handle. tis the days of natural disasters and plenty of death to go around.

People need to be smart enough to stop having more than two, occasionally three, childern each. That leaves one child replacing the mother and one for the father. Great success.
