I am not sure that I understand the internal logic of the groupings, and assuming in each case that the band is in its prime and not in its current lineup, A Stones; B Ramones; C Metallica; D AC/DC; E (very tough choices) U2*; F Linkin Park**.
I guess the closest anyone has ever come to this was the Feed the World set of concerts that included some of the noted groups in 1984 or 1985.

* Could easily have chosen Van Halen or GnR.
** SoundGarden was a very close second.

You would put the Foo Fighters in a list but not Lynyrd Skynyrd? You would put Linkin Park in a list but not Kiss?

Somehow you got lost....Here, let me help you:

Group A: Zeppelin
Group B: Lynyrd Skynyrd
Group C: Metallica (with Burton)
Group D: AC/DC
Group E: Van Halen (with either Roth or Hagar)

That is my five, although you listed six groups.

Definitely going down at Wembley Stadium.

Well, going by THOSE rules, I'd say as follows:
Led Zepplin, Queen, Rush, Pink Floyd, Van Halen and Soundgarden. (You unfairly listed Rolling Bones TWICE in group A)
Choosing ANY band, from ANY catagory, I'd say as follows:
Led Zepplin, Rolling Stones, The Ramones, Queen, Metallica, Rush, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Foo Fighters, U2, Van Halen (With DLR OR Sammy Hagar OR BOTH) and Soundgarden
Now, choosing from outside of your catagories, I'd say:
Rush, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Dokken, DIO, Jethro Tull, Judas Priest, The Police, .38 Special, Tesla, Triumph, Styx, Kiss, Queensryche, Ozzy, Scorpions and Yngwie Malmsteen.
-Epic concert, eh? -ANY arena would do.

Group G - The five bands of my own choice

1. The Kinks
2. XTC
3. Cream
4. Motorhead
5. Jethro Tull

From your groups I have already seen Soundgarden, Nirvana, Metallica, and Rush live. Unfortunately, I have never seen the bands from my group, that's why I chose them. At the risk of a few 'thumbs down', I thought I would think OUTSIDE the box.

You have The Rolling Stones listed twice in Group A. I guess
because of their catalogue of songs, they would get the nod over
Led Zeppelin and the Beatles but not by much.
Group B I would choose Queen personally because they are awesome, but nothing against the other choices who are also cool.
Group C would go to The Who, because of their musical signifigance.
Group D I would take Pink Floyd because of longevity, and because of their musical style.
Group E would go probably go to Nirvana because Kurt is no longer around, and it would be interesting to see how the music
scene would have developed if Nirvana was still around.
Group F has to go to RHCP because of their longevity and their
continued excellence of nearly a quarter century. That's just me,
but my second choice would be Pearl Jam.
