Your heater core is behind the glove box and if you can't turn off the heat, the heater control valve is staying open. Usually due to a vacuum diaphram not functioning properly. Can also be caused by a faulty vacuum hose. Not a big deal unless you are getting water on the floor.

some cars have a vacum or cable operated heater valve on the heater hose.this closes the flow of coolant when the heater switch is in the off position.and it can get stuck in the closed position from being off all summer. it is possable yours is behind the glove box. but look under the hood by the firewall first. and a plyers will usually let you open it up again.
