I got a Mighty Mini Airbrush Kit for Christmas and I had a really good idea to airbrush pictures on shirts and stuff and then give them to my friends, but my mom was conserned that the shirts can't be washed and the paint would bleed through and get on people's skin.
Does anybody no anything about airbrushing on shirts?

people have airbrushed on shirts for ages. about every amusement park as an airbrush artist doing just that.

all the art work you see now on shirts, jeans, etc is airbrushed on.

just have to get the correct paint for the project at a craft store is all. and it is washable safe.

Why not? The only question is whether the fabric paints sold at craft stores like Hobby Lobby and Michaels and fabric stores like Joannes will clog the air brush, which you can check quickly with a single bottle of paint. 'Airbrushed tshirts' returns a lot of sites selling the things.
And the paints are washable, non-bleeding and non-toxic.

Make sure you get a good material for the shirts you want to use. Put the shirt over a piece of cardboard and be sure to allow it to dry completely.

No matter what you do there is no guarantee they won't bleed if the person wearing them sweats, but it won't be a great deal and shouldn't affect the painting itself. I used to do the same thing on jackets, and they never bled when worn in the rain.

Yes -- you can airbrush clothes with enamel, latex, or acrylic and the paint will stay on just fine. People do it all the time and sell the clothes. Let the paint dry thoroughly before washing it, then just try to get it out -- you can't.

Enjoy!

if it's water based ink/paint it will probably bleed and or fade. It's really hard to say unless it says it's intended for that kind of thing. Even things that are supposed to be permanent like sharpies come off of cloths with a few runs in the the washing machine. Alcohol and oil based paints will have better luck, though.
