You don't patent a book, you copyright it. Which, by virtue of laws, is as simple as writing at the bottom "Copyright (then the year)".However, if you do this before you take it to a publishing company it may be a bit difficult to have it published.

Books cannot be patented!

Books are are intellectual property and therefor copyrighted, not patented.

contact publishing companies. send them ur book. if they like it, they'll tell you. patents come after. the publishing company will help you with that later...

you could get an agent to go and look at it for u and he will tell u what is good and bad about and mabey he will hook u up and sell/publish the book!!!!! I LOVE YOUR ICON ITS SO CUTE!!!

also to protect yourself before you get it copy wrighted, mail yourself a typed copy of the manuscript, then don't open it.
That way you can prove it was written by you before the date it was postmarked.
