i do because it happens to me on a daily basis, starting with when i first wake up, if I'm pleasant to my guy he's pleasant back, and continues that way through out the day, although it doesn't always work that way with the rest of the world, some people no matter how pleasant u are they are still unpleasant, i just keep on being a happy person and sooner or later no matter how bad some one is they crack a smile when they see me. because i have seen some very unhappy people get happier when they are presented with a smile. even if they won't admit it.

Yes, I believe.
For example say I was a thief. I go around robbing peoples houses. I would have to deal with the karma of my actions. To sell off the stolen merchandise I would have to associate with rather shady characters also I would most likely be hanging around people who share my lifestyle and outlook. How long before the people I am dealing with turn on me? How long before I am arrested? How long before I am shot by someone I am robbing? Not to mention the paranoia of living in such a state? This works for all aspects of living not just the thief.

I don't believe in it. It's mostly Alanis Morissette's song 'Wake Up' that got me thinking about this subject. She sings "What goes around, never comes around to you". After hearing that, I realize it's true. How often does the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. It seems like it's all the time. Not necessarily to the rich/poor, but to everyone. If one person has good luck in their life, it's more than likely they'll continue to have good luck. I also believe that the phrase "what goes around, comes around" works if you do something about it. Like the bully on the playground: if you sit back and let him take control, he wins. But if you do something to get back at him, you win. So pretty much it depends on the level of involvement you're on.

No, i think that people have similar experiences when growing up as it pertains to relationships. I have been cheated on although I have never cheated on anyone before. Unless, what goes around comes around is only meant in a negative way.

I do believe in 'you reap what you sow'. This is a basic universal fact of life. No less an authority than the Bible states this principle. Newton states this principle. Nearly if not all religions of every stripe and color state this principle.

Now, one does not necessarily receive EXACTLY what one gave forth, but rather one receives IN KIND what one gave forth. If you sow discontent, in whatever form, you reap discontent, in whatever form. If you pass on blessings, of whatever form, you will receive blessings, in whatever form. And it's not necessarily that you do something in the morning and you receive 'compensation' by nightfall, though that may happen on occasion. But in time, you WILL reap what you sow. It is inevitable.

I not believe that this is the case all of the time. In many situations, this is the case. Sometimes people get what they deserve, but many times people get what they do not deserve. I know a perfectly nice woman whose father died of cancer. Later her husband died shortly after the birth of her son. I also know a man named george whose father died in his teens. He has lived with his elderly mother ever since to take care of her and for his efforts he gets to watch her get weaker every day. Negative things happen to people who do not deserve it every day. This is why the phrase is not always true.

What goes around doesn't always come around. It may be nice to believe it does, but that's not always the case.

it is a very comforting thought, but really not very sensible. it is a bit like believing in fate, or karma; in my opinion, this implies that we have very little free will, in other words, we are not responsible, we have an excuse to do nothing more than pontificate.... sorry, this is not for me; revenge is not so important and everyone will learn their own lessons in life; if i want someone to get their come-uppance, I will make sure that they do; bugger waiting for some heavenly presence to do the job for me.... didnt work with Pinochet, now, did it?

I believe in it because I have seen and felt this many many times over... it is my belief that the universe/cosmos/whatever you'd like to call it, has a way of balancing things out. If you put out negative vibes you get them right back at you... positive draws positive.
