A tipi by all means.
The cold and barren snow covered lands where igloo's are situated do not appeal to me.
Mud huts probably are situated where there is excessive moisture. Not ready for mud wrestling.
A tipi because they are found mostly on the great plains and often near the Rockies in the good old U.S.A. These are the places ALL vacationers and travelers SHOULD see before they look for adventure overseas. One must smell the sage, hear the coyotes bark, and watch the geese fly north, then south as the seasons pass. Then you must also listen to the messages in the wind as it tickles and rattles the tipi covering while you are falling asleep.
Been there, done that. Try it, you'll like it.

i think of very few (none) Canadians (Inuit) could stay completely in igloos. some could use them while searching, yet by using fact the polar cap is warming up, there won't be sufficient packed snow to make an igloo with. Making and living (quickly) in an igloo could be a tourist or ceremonial (remembering Inuit background) occasion.

You say if you had to like it would be some kind of punishment. I guess for some of your respondents it seems that way-goes to show you it's all a mtter of perspective. I'd love to live in a teepee for more then two weeks and have. It is very liberating. Igloo and Mud Huts are both too confining.

I would live in a mud hut because I'm guessing that it would be in a warm place and warm sounds good to me. I've never stayed in any of them, but as a kid I tried to make an igloo with friends in the snow.

Mud hut because igloos mean it's cold, and cold is not fun.

An igloo hands down.
No bugs. I could deal with the cold, but not the bugs.
