That's not necessarily bad. That's about as many as I have, and they all go WAY WAY back.
Some people boast that they have many, many friends, but often these people are merely acquaintances, and some people have rather vague definitions of what a "friend" is.
To me, true friends last for years, whether you see them or not on a regular basis; but when you do get together, you're automatically on the same page, sharing support, concern, and humor. And memories, that go Way Way back.

Well one true friend that I know I have is the friend I grew up with. We've known each other our entire lives and that's how long we've been friends. It's kind of interesting when we mention that to kids at school because we're only sophomores in high school and we've had a fifteen year relationship being friends. We don't really see each other as best friends but more like sisters, because we're always there for each other even if we don't hang out that much anymore.
It's not bad to only have three really close friends. Growing up I went through about a hundred of them. People grow apart and don't know each other any more. We're just lucky to have friends that are there when we most need it. Friends like that are a rare thing in the world we face each and every day. You have the reassurance that they'll be loyal and only break a promise if they know it jeopardizes you very badly. They're guardian angels, blessings, what ever you want to call them because they're there for you.

Three is more than enough. I have only one best friend. She is my only hope. My faith in true friendship has been shaken over tha last two years. If not her than I am lost. Oh God it's hard to find true friends. A week ago I fought with my ex best friend on the internet cause she lives an ocean away from me. I would never believe that I could say her whatever I said. YOu didn't pass the friendship test, you failed, these were my last words to her. Cruel , but just.

Well how do you define true? My definition of a friend is someone I can call 24/7 if I need them and they will be there automatically. If that is your definition, I have 5 who I would trust with my life and if God forbid something happened to me. I have 6 if I count the love of my life because he is my truest, best friend!

Only 4. But I already know the date that we will go our seperate ways. One, however wil still be counted as a true friend because of the number of years that I have known him, but we will still be apart.

I'm 29 years old I can honestly say I only have three good friends. My mother I can trust her with anything. My sister she will always be there for me good or bad and she lets me know if I'm wrong or if an outfit just doesn't look right. And finally my husband anything I can tell my mom or my sister I can tell him.
