No. The United States government does not ban book. Freedom of speech is protected by the First Amendment in the Constitution of the United States. You can find a searchable Constitution at http://www.law.emory.edu/cms/site/index.php?id=3106#7702

Stephen King did have a book, “Rage”, which he voluntarily stopped the printing of, because Mr. King felt that the story is to similar to the schools shootings, which were occurring in the United States. He states in his book “Stephen King: On Writing” that it is one book that he had personal issues with. It is a story about high school student holding his class hostage after a shooting. It was originally printed as one of his “Bachman books”, when he used his pen name Richard Bachman.
