Not all 3g came with the B20a5, there was the carbed B20a3, the JDM B20a, the b20a5, and the B21a1 in 1990-91 which is obviously a 2.1L. Except for the B20a, those 3 were offered in the states. Other countries had different variations of the B20a.

The first/most important thing you need other than the engine you are going to swap are the engine mounts. Currently no one makes engine mounts for 3g H22 swap, except one company on a forum I am on. And they wont make them for the public yet, since they wouldnt really benefit from making these, since there isnt a high demand for it. If you can get them custom made then go for it.

There will be clearance issues no matter what you do. Either you're oil pan will be around 3 inches off of the ground at stock height, or your hood will have to be lifted/or cut in order for it to close. The problem with oilpan has been adressed but the hood has to be modified in order to close.

It is not an easy swap, and an F-series is pointless, same HP as a 3g, just a little bit more torque, and not worth the trouble. The easiest swap you can do without any fitment issues would be the B-series that are for our ludes.

Not the B20b/z, but the B20a. Our motors are boost friendly, so turbo would be the best bet for power. You can get the same power out of a boosted B20a for less money than you would from an H22/23 swap.

Check out www.preludepower.com, and search for H22 mounts and you'll what I'm talking about.
