Retribution is what prevents people like Saddam from commiting their horrible acts. If were to go unpunished what would that say to the world?

To Dolen:
Why does it matter that we establish each individual life he ordered to be taken? His most heinous crimes were against the state and the iraqi people, not individuals.

Huh? His own people are punishing him. Iraq as Saddam knew it is virtually gone, despite the resistance to change. He's living in a jail cell with his formally oppressed citizens about to hang him. He's like a junk yard dog with all of his teeth pulled, he's not biting anyone anymore. He's toast. It isn't retribution, it's justice if you swallow the lines you're fed by the media and the government.
The Iraqi people are still piecing their lives together to this day. They go without power and basic services. Their lives are chaos. We're going into a country that had little freedom, and we're leaving (when we DO leave) a vacuum for Starbucks, McDonalds, and Waffle House to fill. Swapping an evil dictator for freedom and fast food, not a bad trade!
Not one Iraqi citizen will ever be the same after we leave. We will have completely changed the way they think, the way they act, and the way they drink coffee and shop for jeans. We're like a virus in America. Look what we did to the Japanese! Our ideals and ideas spread, despite the distaste and distain other countries have for us. I love this country.
I could truthfully care less about Iraq. They'll be assimilated, and eventually will stand on their own. I'm worried about North Korea. Kim Jong Il is a first rate nut. Bush doesn't have enough time left to invade North Korea.

some smash out with homicide, whilst others get carry of punishment far greater than what the conventional guy or woman could get for the same offense purely through fact they're celebrities and judges sense they'd desire to tutor that they at the instant are not allowing them to slide. No fairness for celebs the two way.

Reinstate him as dictator, and have him to crush the insurgents.
Then cut a nice oil deal. With the U.N. it was called "oil for food", with the U.S. we'll call it "oil for free, forever".
Keep some air and naval bases there, but otherwise get the ground troops out.
Sorry, but the Iraqi's don't want a democracy.

Catch up. He has already been turned over by the courts to his own people to decide what they choose to do. They plan on hanginging him publicaly.
