Verve "Freshmen" was found by scientists to make the brain become the most depressed. I don't know why but I'd recommend that.

Also, here's another list:

# No Aphrodisiac by the Whitlams

# Most songs by the Smiths and Morrissey

# I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues by Elton John

# Forever Autumn from the War of the Worlds

# Famous blue raincoat by Leonard Cohen

# Beloved Wife by Natalie Merchant

# Dishes by Pulp

# Maree by Townes van Zandt

# Leader of the Pack

# Old Shep

# Annie's Song by John Denver

# Are You Lonesome Tonight? by Elvis

# Two Little Boys by Rolf Harris

# Abide With Me

# The Wild Rose by Nick Cave

# Honey by Bobby Goldsborough

# Rusty It's Goodbye by Slim Dusty

# Leader of the Pack by the Shangri-Las

# Nothing Compares 2 U by Sinead O'Connor

And the song voted the most depressing by you?
# Ben by Michael Jackson, otherwise known as "that rat song". (With a special mention to Leonard Cohen for being the most-mentioned artist.)
