Toronto is a lot bigger and so there will be more to do, but Niagara Falls has fireworks and things like that on New Year's Eve. I would personally go with Toronto, because I got to Niagara Falls all the time and think it's a bit on the touristy side.

I'll be in Niagara with Bells on.....@ work though! But if I wasn't working I wopuld stills stay here. Nothing like partying with 35,000 of your closest friends down on Murray Hill while listeneing to free music. This years freebies are Foreigner and Colin James. Couple other little guys. Fireworks twice once at 9 then again in time for midnight. You get to watch to "bug" make to decent up the tower to count down midnight! There is booze vendors and food. It really is a fun time! And you never know you could get on tv, then tape for like 2.5 hours down there. You can always make the trip to Toronto to check it out, in the New Year, do 2 days here and 2 days there. Either way where ever you end up you will have fun!! Take care, drive safe!

Our Festival of Lights is still going on as well during that time! There is enough for you to do here too, clubs, restaurants, attractions, the casinos, little for everyone!

Stay in Toronto, there's way more to do than Niagara. I agree with another post, go there (Niagara) on another day. Besides its better to see Niagara Falls in daylight (and then in the evening with the lights).

In Toronto, at least you have the opportunity to partake in a greater variety of events. I wouldn't recommend Nathan Philips Square though. Just a big crowd of people pushing and shoving around (not fun), unless you like big crowds - then have at it! Besides you can party hop more easily downtown.

Happy New Year wherever you end up!

I would say Toronto because ther is more things to do and from the entertainment perspective, niagara falls doesn't have good music but that's my opinion too, toronto has better musicians etc, but who knows, it's dffeernt every year but every year i havn't liked who's gone to niagara, and niagar is more just for families like little kids and momma u kno?? just go to Toronto and thne new years day go to Niagara Falls

The Niagara FAlls are gr8 especially at night with the lights and all. However its cold, also there are other places in the area to go to, like this place filled with butterflies.
