Steps
Cover Dark Circles: with your index finger, gently smooth concealer that's one shade lighter than your skin under the eye to cover any darkness there.
Cover zits, redness & pimples: If you have blemishes, use foundation that's the exact color of your skin to cover. Step back from the mirror and check whether you have any blotches or redness. Take a little bit of foundation and only cover that spot. Mesh it well.
Sealing Your Coverage: Using a powder puff, pat a small amount of powder lightly over face to set your makeup. Skip this step and your cover-up will disappear! Warm tone powder works the best.
Don't forget your brows: Comb your brows up and across using a brow brush or a toothbrush. Or softly apply shadow [matching your eyebrow color] to fill in brows, appearing fuller.
Shimmerize your lids: Use finger or a brush to apply a shimmery shadow to the eyelid. Silvery Lavender shades look good on anyone.
Natural Flush: Cream blush goes on the apples of your cheeks. Smile a big smile, blend up and in a circular motion always blending towards the temple.
Lusher Lashes: Mascara goes on top and bottom lashes- thicker on the outer lashes. It makes your eyes look big, and sexy. Apply 1 or 2 coats and let it dry in between.
Lastly Lips: Fill in entire lip using a creamy lip pencil. Then, using your finger or brush, spread gloss on top. Experiment with colors and textures.
REMEMBER*: Before everything always use moisturizer on your face!

Tips
Shadow: Experiment with light, fun colors- pastels, soft metallics, and bright colors. Go beyond powder shadows for textures that are creamy, shimmery, sparkly or glittery.
Eye Liner: Too much is never good. It depends on your eye color, green & blue eyes can apply as much as they would like, and brown eyes sould always do it 3/4's on top and bottom. Never wear white eye liner, it does not open your eyes, it just make you look weird. Smoky Eye Effect: Use a favorite shadow as liner. Smudge it around your eye. Voila! Sexy, smoky, and modern.
Eyebrows: Make sure your eyebrows are natural-looking. Just tweeze stray hairs. Do not overpluck! Over-plucking is the common mistakes teenage girls make.
Blush: If you have very light skin, use pale pinks. If you have medium skin, use sandy pinks. If you have dark or black skin, choose deep, rich colors, like soft plum or deep bronze. If you have yellow or olive skin, look for shades like pink, tawny or rose, and stay away from peach and bronze. The wrong blush makes you look dirty, bruised or pasty. Cream blush looks the most fresh and natural.
Blush Emergencies Blush fading already? Use lip stick, or lip liner.
Mixing Lip Colors: Start with either a light or dark shade. It doesn't matter which goes on first since you can adjust later on. Too dark? Blot with tissue and layer on lighter shades with white, beige or pink. Too light? Build up darker shades like blackberry, which magically turns any lip into an evening look. Too intense? Use beige to mute almost any color. Too blah? Use red to brighten-but use sparingly. Use lip pencil and lip balm to create your own color. Eye Shadow & Lip Balm = Matte Lipstick. To make lip color last longer, use a lip pencil on top of lip stick.

It depends on your skin. If you don't have blemishes use a powder (physician's formula has wonderful powders that won't break you out). If you have some blemishes use foundation. Alma Nearly Naked Liquid Foundation is very good, because it won't break you out and is sheer but gives good coverage. ALways use a pressed powder over foundation. If you have a lot of blemishes or tend to get the occasional really big one, use the foundation, then concealer (concealer is for spot coverage), and then powder. To know your shade you just have to look at the makeup and try a little on your hand. The shade the looks most natural (as in you can't see a line) is your shade. Eyeshadow or eyeliner, it depends on what your eyes look like. I would go with eyeshadow for a beginner because it is more "forgiving" when it comes to mistakes that you want to erase. Work your way up to eyeliner. Lipgloss is great! It's simple and makes you look polished! Good luck!

For an everyday school look, I recommend a sort of natural, glowing look. I love using this fresh look; I buy most of my cosmetics from the drugstore, but splurge on things you really need quality for, like the perfect blending foundation or concealer.

So here's a good daily regimen:
1. Blend a daily facial moisturizer with a shimmery (not glittery) powder. When you apply everyday, you not only moisturize but you glow!
2. If you have spots to conceal, apply concealer in that area and blend with a brush. Never use foundation every day! It's really bad for your skin.
3. Try a tinted lip balm or a lip gloss, like Neutrogena Tinted Lip Balm or MAC Lipglass (anything will pretty much do, as long as you like the color).
4. Swipe mascara on your lashes! If you have are a blonde or brunette, use clear or brown mascara. If you have dark brown hair or black, try a black mascara. Good, cheap basic ones awesome for everyday are Maybelline Great Lash, CoverGirl Lash Exact.
5. You can also add a splash of color for your eyes. I don't recommend spending tons of money on this. I can't exactly tell from your avatar picture, but I recommend a pretty blue or green.

Less is usually more. Wear what you are comfortable wearing.
I would stay away from liquid liner until you are comfortable with regular liner. Covergirl makes a great one that clicks up that you don't have to sharpen.

Revlon Colorstay makeup would be good for you too because you are most likely not used to NOT touching your face.

I'd avoid blush, most younger girls don't need it.

It depends on your skintone on what colors to wear. I can't wear blueish tones myself. Its a great time to pickup one of those cheap "color kits" with TONS of cheap eyeshadows that are used as gifts. This way you can experiment with colors to find the right color without spending $5 a pop per color.

Or there is always the option of asking for a makeover for a future present (Birthday? Valentines day?)

Find out what your sister used and start there.

Many of these ladies are right, less is more! you want your makeup to look natural and to enhance your beauty, not practicing for a horror film.

I recommend without being able to see your face and eye color that you buy neutral colors like rose gold, and browns, and use them sparingly, with a coat of clear mascara, so if you laugh allot or get teary no raccoon eyes. ; )

I have blue eyes so I usually do a lite coat of gold from my eyes to my brow ridge and accent the brow ridge with rose-gold. Now for me this looks great with clear mascara, but know that everyone is different and you may need to play around with your sisters help to achieve the look you like.

I would stay away from foundations and blushes, you don't really need to go to that length everyday, most people look great just accentuating the eyes and glossing the lips.

hope this helps

Try going to sephora for some good brands, like MAC or Bobbi Brown.

It really depends on your skin tone. From your picture, I think you have either fair or olive skin. Try some lip gloss, and maybe some mascara. I don't suggest wearing eyeshadow much maybe a little dab of something natural like a brown or a beige.

some great (if expensive) brands that are really not bad for your skin at all are 1) Dr. Hauschka ( http://www.peacefulcompany.com/searchresult.aspx?CategoryID=95 ) 2) Bare Essentials ( http://www.sephora.com/browse/brand_hierarchy.jhtml;jsessionid=P11YLIQRWB5KVLAUCKFBXCQ?brandId=5737&cm_mmc=us_search-_-GG-_-br%20bescen-_-bare%20essentials&_requestid=331519 ) and 3) a home based order only company called Arbonne ( https://www.arbonne.com/shop_online/showCatalog.asp?category=19 ).

Ita w/pp about going to a dept. store and getting a make over. You can, if you WANT, buy something after they've done their thing, but you DON'T have to. You can ask lots of questions while they do their thing, though. Good luck!

It very hard to give tips but you should go to a make up counter at the mall and have them help you and recommend products. You don't have to buy the stuff they use because some of it expensive. Just go to walmart or the drug store to buy make up.

Try google cover girl, Revlon, and maybelline. There website have lots of make tips. Good Luck
