I know this girl who I tried to be friends with, and she is really shy so I tried to get closer to her and i kinda did but it happened very slowly(over the course of a year), and then she made friends with this other girl and there like bff's now and its only been a month and she's acting really selfish and now i'm mad at her and i have other friends and don't really care if I don't see her anymore, but my parents invited her family over to return a favor and its going to be awkard and now she emailed me to, which she never does, so i don't know what to do! and because she's so shy and innocent its so hard to be mad at her even though she only cares about herself. i'm sorry if i sound mean, i'm just frusterated. Please help.

thank you i'll try....i have to see her every day in school though so that makes it difficult. and i feel like an idiot, because every time i'm mad at someone all i ever do is pretend nothing is wrong and be nice to them. it gets depressing.

Sometimes life grabs ahold of us so tightly that we neglect the things that truely matter..... talk to her and let her know what you are feeling,,,, maybe this other friend of hers was going through a rough part of her life and needed her Just talk to her Hope things work our for you!

if the girl will be with the family, no matter how awkward the situation is going to be, keep calm and be as courteous as possible. the girl may be immature and self-absorbed, but try and talk to her, maybe work things out. definitely try and talk to her if she chooses to initiate the conversation, and certainly don't talk about your issues over the dinner table in front of the family. if all else fails, end the friendship.

This sounds like a middle school relationship...get over it and move on. Girls aren't everything! Make the most of your life and have fun!
