There was a time when EPT was the best test that you could purchase. First response is now becoming a well known test. It can actually detect the pregnancy hormone BEFORE your missed period. I used it three days before I was supposed to start and got an accurate reading. Keep in mind that some women produce hormones at different levels.
But, pretty much, all pregnancy tests are the same.

Personal experience. I bought two pregnancy tests. The first was from the Dollar Store. (lol) The test came out postive. I figured hell it's a dollar test...it's probably no good. I decided to follow up with a really well known pregnancy test. So I bought a EPT. Hell it came out negative. The Dollar Store test was accurate. Any pregancy test is supposed to detect the hormone Hcg. This is only present if there's a bun in the oven. So if any test you take is positive, follow up with a physician. I can't vouche for EPT. But I can vouche for the test from the Dollar Store.

yes, even a pregnancy test from the dollar store is a good one(and costs less). All pregnancy tests do the same thing(detect pregnancy based on hcg which is a hormone only found in those who are pregnant). good luck! Sometimes if you test to soon you will get a false negative,or if there is not enough pregnancy hormone.I have never heard of a false positive.Though I just looked it up on line and some people actually get those too, but mostly for not following the directions to the test or from being on certain medications. The very best test is a blood test at your doctors office, which they do to confirm. Also it's best to go to the doctors as soon as you get a positive home pregnancy test because prenatal care is important early and all through pregnancy. good luck!

First Response detects very small amounts of hcg in the urine (less than 20 ml) so it is very sensitive at detecting pregnancy. Probably one of the best home tests on the market.
Just be sure to use first morning urine for the test, whichever one you choose, and don't drink anything a few hours before bed the night before you test.

First response worked quicker for me. That brand is more sensitive to the HCG your body produces when pregnant. EPT took about 2 days longer to give me a positive.

I go with the EPT myself. I think the digital type is best. Sometimes it is hard to figure out the lines. If you are lucky, you can find the test that let you dispose of the pee strip and keep the results. Good Luck!

With the possible exception of the kits you find at the Dollar Store, most tests are the same. Essentially they are simply fancy test strips. Some detect lower amounts of the pregnancy hormones, therefore providing earlier proof of pregnancy but that's the only real difference.

I found that they were pretty much all the same. I usually tried to buy the one that had 2 testers in a pack. You always second guess the results. And for the little bit of extra money it was handy to have the second. Especially if you are trying to conceive and you test every month. And it was cheaper to buy the test with 2 testers that to buy 2 individual testers.
