OK start timing the back pain see if they are coming closer together over time .when they are about five Min's apart and the back pain is feeling like its wrapping around to the front and they are increasing in strength then its time to have a baby soon !but allot of times you can get contractions that are sort of pre labor contraction just getting you ready for the big day they are called braxton hicks look i am a mother of six and i always new when it was the real deal there is no question when its real labor !
but don't forget to call your doc and fill them in when the contractions are 3-5 min apart...
and you will be fine and soon you will have a precious little baby to love and kiss good luck..

Alarmed about what? Sounds like the past two weeks for me...if they're mild cramps than I am pretty sure you don't have to be alarmed...the doctor gave you a list of what is labor right? mild cramping isn't on it...just use a heating pad on your back and be patient...

could be. Have you timed the cramps...including backaches? I had 4 kids and never lost my mucas plug except for 10 minutes before I had my 3rd child! lol. Also, I never had contractions that you could time until about 15 minutes before my kids were born. All of them! So, in short...yes, you might have something to be alarmed about. No harm in going to get it checked out :)

I wouldn't worry about it. The cramping could be early signs of labor (if you birthed now it would be still be normal, anything after 38 weeks is considered full term). If it continues, and becomes very regular, than you might be going into labor.

no don't be alarmed. everything sound good. You are probably experiencing Braxton-Hicks contractions, which is kind of your body's way of getting ready for the real thing.

please, call your doctor to be sure!!

also, be sure your baby nursery and supplies (car seat, diaper, baby wipes, onesies, crib, etc.) & your bag for taking to the hospital are all ready to go!!

you need to be timing this. if you can't tell when it starts and ends try pushing slightly on your belly with your fingers when it tightens start timing whe it ends stop then time in between if your contractions are 1 min long and from 5 to 10 mins apart head to the hospital.

if the cramps start getting closer together. Keep track of them could just be Braxton hicks

I wouldn't be alarmed.

Cramps and backpain could just be that your body is getting itself ready for the birth.

I would blame it on Braxton Hicks, but if you're really worried it never hurts to call in.

i never lost my mucous plug, or was aware that i did, and my water has never broken on its own. Never hurts to call the hospital and ask for their professional advice.
