I don't know about ever, but she was the best prime minister post WW11. She saved this country from being forced into a stagnant soviet style economy by a gang of union bully boys. She was not responsible for the collapse of the mining industry, that was caused by a combination of greedy unions, incompetent managers and outdated working practises. Even some miners broke away from the NUM and formed their own union (Nottingham miners). She saved the people of the Falkland Islands from a brutal military dictatorship. At the time, due to the weakness of the labour government the country was descending into chaos, and she took the hard decisions necessary to pull us back from the brink.

A note about DAVID C's threat to put a brick through the window of anyone who puts her picture up. This is typical of the fascist left to threaten violence against anyone who dares to express an opinion different from their own

She was a strong prime minister and took some unpalatable decisions. Remember the Labour government before her when the rubbish went uncollected, the dead unburied, Britain near bankrupt, taxation killing any incentive to work or invest in this country. Her government made the wealth that we enjoy today. When this corrupt, incompetent government is kicked out, we'll need another " Maggie" to undo the damage and bring back jobs and prosperity to the UK.

No - Margaret Thatcher caused turmoil in UK destroying in part the mining communities of England and Wales. The destruction of the mining communities in Wales lead to the destruction of Welsh culture. There are now far fewer choirs in Wales than there were before the Thatcherite Kingdom of Doom. Twenty years of hell for the working people of Britain. Soon may she die and be forgotten. She did nothing for this country that will be remembered.

Margaret Thatcher did the almost impossible - she single handedly saved this country from ITSELF.

She recognized that the low skilled, manual labour intensive economy we had could NEVER compete with other countries on wages & prices.

She realised that subsidy needing nationalised industry would cripple the Govt - especially when EU rules FORBID the propping up of companies with taxpayers money.

Without her the financial sector would not be the world powerhouse it is today, and without the city of london bringing in "invisible earnings" this country is REALLY SCREWED.

Tony Blair is intelligent and nice man. I respect him. Mrs. Thatcher was a strong woman always taking bold decisions. Her advice about terrorism was that terrorist should not be given publicity. It is oxygen for them. Misguided groups are getting plenty of publicity plus money causing agony to their brothers.

You want a lot of abusive answers - don't you?

I think that you are welcome to you own opinion, but when somebody sells the family jewels - to make a quick profit - it is not the hallmark of good government.

She was a strong leader, like Adolf Hitler, and I think both share the same level of opinion in my mind. I would buy her image if they started to print it on toilet paper, and if she hurries up and dies, I will personally water her flowers if I ever get the chance.

Why do I loathe the woman so much? I ived here since 1964, and saw my wages drop by 60% because of that old hag. I saw my proffesion flushed down the toilet. But that was in her later years. No the main reason is, as a teenager I was sent to fight in a war with Argentina which I was lucky to survive. Not to protect British soil, but to make sure she was re-elected.

I hope she joins her friend, General Pinochet in hell soon, and you may get a brick through your shop window, if your stupid enough to put her ugly mug up in the window.
