There are always winners of war...ie those who are the war industry...

So who benefits from the breakdown of the family, and men hating women, and women hating men....? The polarization of the sexes ?

No good comes from polarization of the sexes. One person ends up hating an entire sex because of a few bad experiences.
But men need women & women need men, just as we always have.

In terms of the breakdown of the traditional family structure, those who are opposed to it benefit from it. The ones who do not feel comfortable sleeping with someone of the opposite sex benefit because they do not have to live a lie. But this will never be anything more than a minority, thus propelling civilization further, to find other ways to ruin family structure.

In terms of divorice, though those involved are breaking a single family structure, they are not tearing down the idea of a man and woman with children, it just did not work with that particular spouse. They are, however still in search of a normalized family balance. So they are benefitted by the break. Some are harmed, but mostly good comes from this type of destruction.

The traditional family unit is almost nonexistent, in case you have not noticed. If you are trying to say that it is caused by any one group then you are mistaken. The current economic circumstances in North America with the failure of capitalism and the dire consequences of a right wing conservative government has eroded the safety net for social services and has forced for the most part both parents or in the case of single unit families the head of the household, to work long hours. This in a sense has lead to a mother staying home and caring for children and a father working a nine to five job to no longer be plausible. Women should be also given the choice of whether they want to work or raise children and should be rewarded monetarily by the government for choosing to stay home, by the same token men should also be given this choice. The sexes have always been clearly polarized by social norms and in this present time the sexes are closer to understanding each other then any other time. So you question makes little sense because nobody really benefits however the situation of the traditional family can be reworked so that the present social circumstances can be tailored to fit the needs of many without causing oppression or poverty.

The government. People look to the government to aid them where they used to look to the family and the church for help. While I don't see an outward polarization of the sexes, I do see men leaving woman when their the most vulnerable (pregnant) and divorce spiraling out of control, but this leads me to believe it's not a specific hatred toward each other but a basic breakdown of family values. I see more children in daycare, more pregnant teens, but I also see more government programs and I see taxes going up. So who's benefiting. I always thought the United States was capitalistic, but it seems today were more socialistic then yesterdays USSR.

Can't conceive of anyone who benefits. Both men and women are disenfranchised with the polarization. Children certainly do not benefit from single parenting or 'wishbone' parenting (being pulled between two parents). Men do not benefit by having to support a family plus an individual household; women do not benefit without the support on a male role model for the children, plus decreased income for them and the children. Except in cases of abuse, most marital differences would benefit from old-time commitment and counseling which recalls the initial long-term goals of each partner.

Nobody is out to destroy the family. It is a question of economical survival. If men want women to work out of the home, they need to expect women may want men to do more then just help out with house chores. It has to be a fifty fifty deal or else women will feel overworked and if women do not leave the home to work, many men will resent that whole financial responsibility. Therefore, the secret lies in one word: equality...do not expect more then what you bargain because each and everyone of us, men and women can only do so much.
