i think its pronounced eemo but my friend says it isnt

It is pronounced eemo, with the long e. As in 'emotional', but take away the 'tional'. The word 'emo' stems from 'emotional'. Therefore it is pronounced eemo.

like the bird?.....I'd say emu or emoo...emo and eemo sound like elmo...but if it is the bird it is suppose to sound like shampoo...so emu or emoo would be right wouldn't it?
