Hey- I've seen some great stuff on Mythbusters- if they said it works, I'd try it once. Sounds to me (the untrained person) that it would catch on fire easily or something......

No. The only thing that keeps your tree from dying is to leave it attached to its roots in the soil... I have heard that it can keep your tree from dying so fast after it is cut, but having tried it I don't think it is true. Our tree has never lasted more than three weeks- when we tried hairspray on it, it only lasted two.

The tree is dead as soon as you cut it
If you can re cut it just before you put it in the stand it will draw water from your base (provided you have a tree stand that holds water) and as long as you don't let the water dry up the tree will last as long as any chemical additive you might buy. Warm water works best ....cuts the pitch...........also margarine will take the pitch off yer hands

I've never heard of that before, But I wouldn't try it. Hair spray has alcohol in it and is very drying, it could be dangerous by making your tree more flammable!

Sorry, hairspray doesn't work on Christmas trees. You need to do CPR.
