While I am a Yankees fan, and I like Giambi, this is not even a close question to answer. Pujols, over & over again. He is an excellent fielding 1st baseman, something Giambi is not. After that, every hitting category, except for working the count (which Giambi is the best at) goes to Pujols. Albert is like 7 years younger than Jason, and many less holes in his swing.
As much as I like Giambi, Pujols is one of, if not #1, best players in the game today, and he will probably go down as one of the best to ever play the game, baring major injury. What he has done over the last 5 years, has not been approached by anyone in MLB history.

Is this even a question? I'm a Yankees fan and I'd take Albert Pujols over Giambi anyday. Giambi is a good player and a great guy but Pujols is the best player in the league and knows how to use his skills. As far as the better first basemen, the obvious call is Pujols. Giambi gets 70% of his play at DH. And right now I'd build my team around Pujols because he is like 10 years younger then Giambi. I think i made it clear im a Yanks fan.

I think there's no question about it. Albert Pujols all the way. He's probably the best hittrer in baseball, a Gold Glove first baseman, only 26 years old and has never used a needle. I'm not saying that Giambi did, but there's a (big) shadow of a doubt.

Pujols is a better 1st baseman. Jason is a horrible 1st baseman and the Yankees recognize this, to the point where Jason is already penciled in as the DH (thank goodness for the rules of the AL)
I am a Yankee fan and I do like Giambi so out of loyalty, I would have to say that I would like Jason on my team.

(I'm a Yankees fan) Obviously Albert Pujols. Better Player. Younger. Giambi was a great player when he was young, he still is but he just isn't putting up the numbers he used to. look at his stats from '98 - '02. Thats impressive. Albert Pujols however, is just simply the better pick. Offense, Defense, Extreme power!

No matter if you're talking offense or defense, Pujols is a much, much, much better player than Giambi. Scarily, Pujols is just hitting his stride. He's faster, stronger, younger, and more reliable at the plate. The only thing Giambi has going for him is a few old steroid needle scars. No, seriously, Giambi has more WS experience and more playoff experience under his belt, but that's all.
Put Lance Berkman back in the outfield and let Pujols take his spot at first for my 'Stros. They'd be a scary pair for any pitcher to face, despite any defensive shortcomings.

Are you serious? Pujols hands down, not even a question. Neither of them are going to be a great defender but Pujols is younger, hits for a much better average, has equal power and above all has never been a steroid user (as far as anyone knows). I would take Pujols on the Brewers any day, even if it means giving up Prince Fielder.

Thats not a fair comparison. Pujols is far superior to Giambi in all facets of the game. That doesn't diminish Giambi's value to the Yankees. Last year he helped the Yanks win their 9th consecutive AL East Championship. They couldn't have done it without him.
Pujols is a stud. None better.
