I having a hard time in try to figure out the answer. I know that 1 oz =28.35 g, and 1 lb = 454 g. I stuck on what to do next...HELP!!!!!!

Well, take what you know and break it down. 1 lb = 454 g. You know you have 51 lbs, so multiply 454 by 51. That equals 23154. Okay, lets go to the oz. You know 1 oz is 28.35 g, so multiply 28.35 by 8. That will equal 226.8. Now you add the results together, since they are both in gram form it is a simple matter of addition. The sum would be 23380.8 g. Now you need to convert it to kilograms. 1000 g = 1 kilogram (kg) so you would need to divide the sum of 23380.8 by 1000. This would result in 23.3808 or 23 kg with 380.8 g left over.
a. 454 * 51 = 23154 g
b. 28.35 * 8= 226.8
c. 23154 + 226.8 = 23380.8 g
d. 23380.8 / 1000 = 23.3808

first get rid of the mixed units, 51 lbs 8 ounces is 51.5 lbs (16 ounces to the pound, remeber)
51.5 times 0.454, BAM!

the answer is 24.26 how to figure it out is beyond me but my computer does a great job of it.
