I don't get it... explain. Also, why does every soap opera have some dude with an eye patch. Are they trying to create a trend?

Beats me. The "acting" alone is enough to discourage me from watching long enough to actually become interested. Those looks that the characters give each other is hilarious. Acting overkill I'd imagine. Not sure about the eye patch thing. I guess they're trying to appeal to those pirate loving house wives???

Yuck. I don't like them....terrible acting, lamoid scenarios too. Maybe some people, and I do believe that some men enjoy soap operas, like the hot people and the drama?

I'm a lady and I don't watch soaps. I can't stand em. I don't watch daytime television at all. It is all crap talk shows and soaps. We listen to music or put in movies...if we're not busy.

You can stop thinking for 1/2 and hour or so. And often there's some utter babe and you can sit there hoping he takes off his shirt or falls in the swimming pool fully dressed and comes out dripping wet.

I've never watched them but I heard there was a lot of crime in them which surprised me. My Dad got hooked on them one summer. I couldn't believe my own eyes!

I hate them...but i know why other women do it! It is an escape from ones reality...albeit...into a twisted one...but an altered reality nonetheless!
