try first by staring like five or ten people in the eye switching glances every two seconds. Then, try bigger groups until your comfortable there is not really any thing to worry about just get comfortable being on the stage. I used to have the same problem I still do but its not as serious as it used to be. It used to be so bad it was hard for me to step up and talk to girls. Now, I sing in front of crowds almost all the time just do like the nike slogan and just do it.

Consult a doctor about it. People with stage fright can get relief from taking *beta*-adrenergic blocking agents like propranolol or metoprolol. A psychiatrist might be sympathetic to your problem and prescribe. Or a general practitioner might discover that you have mildly high blood pressure that would benefit from a *beta*-blocker.

In behaviorial therapy there is a saying: "over saturation of a sensetizing event will bring about desensetization." A possible cure would be for you to be hynotized and through time distortion you can think and feel yourself on stage hundreds of time in a matter of, say, 20 minutes. You will saturate yourself with this event and it will become a normal, even borring, event.

There are two easy way to get past that, the first. try to only imagine that its just your family that are watching you. The other,is recall a moment when you might have stood infront of your class and gave a reading or spoke to a smaller group. I*f you can manage to do one of these things you'll do fine.

ever seen the TV show LOST? a main character in the pilot episode says something to the effects of: i let the fear in, i let it do it's thing, but just for 5 seconds. i count 1....2....3....4....5 then thats it.
also i had a friend tell me in highschool that fear was a similer emotion to excitement and if you just think of the fear as excitement then it actually turns into excitement and it is no longer fear.
bravery is not the absence of fear, but rather overcoming it.

Try practicing in front of people you don't know. Maybe volunteer to make speeches of some sort in front of strangers of all ages. Good Luck!

Do not think of anyone as an audience think of everyone as in this with you, like your classmates. Convince yourself everyone wants to see you succeed. Breath deeply and concentrate on what you are doing.
