Mules are the offspring of a horse and a donkey. They are sterile, that is they cant reproduce. They are larger than donkeys and stronger, so they are valued as farm animals. They tend to look somewhat like donkeys, with longer ears and a more donkey like tail.

A donkey is a member of its own species, Equus asinus.

A mule is a cross between a male donkey and female horse (two different species). The offspring is sterile.

a donkey is a donkey.... a mule is a hybrid animal, a cross between a borrow (an ***) and a horse. mules are infirtile animals and cannot reproduce.
