This is inaccurate. Tivo is the only DVR that allows you to transfer recorded shows over to your computer. As for cable and satellite DVR's, I believe there isn't a conventional way of transferring files over to your computer, such as through a serial or USB port. I believe the only way to do this is to pull out the hard drive and connect it to your computer. Even this, may not work due to the operating system, filing system or encoding system that your cable/satellite company may use.
