Hi! Here are a few ways to get rid of the smell. Depending of the cause of the smell and how long it has been there, the baking soda method works for mild smells. If you try them all, and the smell is still there, you may need to throw it away...

METHOD #1) Fill kitchen sink with HOT water. Add 1/4 cup baking soda and soak for 20 minutes.Use the soda solution to wash after soaking. Rinse and wash with dish soap if desired.

METHOD #2) Fill kitchen sink with HOT water and 1/4 cup bleach. Soak for 10 minutes. Add a bit of Sunlight dish soap and wash the Tupperware items. Rinse really well.
** Sunlight dishsoap is safe to use with bleach. Read the label on your bottle of prefered brand of dish soap to make sure it is safe to use with bleach.**

METHOD #3) Fill kitchen sink with touchable hot water. Use an S.O.S pad and softly scrub the inside and outside of the Tupperware. Rinse and wash with dish soap.
** Plastic is porous, causing tiny bacteria to form inside those tiny indentations that you cant see. This is usually the cause of smell. The S.O.S pad will get into the porouse surface to remove the odour causing bacteria.

Good luck :o) and I hope this helped you.

I let them soak in warm dishwater with vinegar in it. Then I put lemon juice in some fresh water and let them air dry after rinsing in very hot water. I store them without the lids on-that helps with the smell a lot.

I just put them in a bleach bath for a few seconds, then rinse well.
