I took my fish out of the aquarium to clean it. I took 50% of the water off. And I washed the big rock with just water... I left the small rocks and artificial plants in the aquarium.
Now what? Do I add the new water first, or do I put my gold fish back in the aquarium first? Do I add Amquel + in the new water, or in the water after on the tank with the old water? Do I give my fish some food today? I don't want this fish to die... I have lost three already... and I really like this one. Please help. I am wating here while my fish is out of the tank in a small bowl. Thanks.

Fill the tank back up with water pre-treated with Amquel +. Then put the fish back in. You can feed him today, yup.

In the future, you don't need to remove the fish. Just empty the water with the fish still in the tank, and fill it back up with water treated with Amquel. Always treat the water with Amquel before putting the water in the tank.

Your goldfish will be fine in a small bowl of water while you do the water change, no worries :)

I would get the fish tank back together, wait about 1 hour then put your fish back in. In the future, I would only switch out 1/3 of the water at a time though.

your gold fish should be fine in the fish bowl. I know people who just leave them in the small bowls all the time. Go ahead and do your tank let the water temp adjust a little and than put the fish back in.

i would add dechlorinated water to the tank....the fish should be fine in a small bowl for the meantime as long as there is adequate oxygen in the water. Goldfish are rather hardy, but make sure that the water in the big tank is 100% dechlorinated before re-introducing the fish(feed them too) No chlorine is a must!
