Tiger chowder.
But seriously, I think there's a basic misunderstanding that man is opposed to nature. Man was created through a natural process, like all species, and like all other species, is unique within nature.
Forming societies which use the knowledge of all its members to achieve better results for the entire collectivity within these societies seems to be part of the nature of the human animal. I don't think there is a point at which man overcomes nature, but simply niches in which humans find their nature more able to flourish.
Now, of course, man is unique in that man has the ability to question his place within nature, and thus can feel alienated from it, but man remains dependent on nature as a whole, whether he likes it or not. So I don't think our relationship to nature needs to be one of competition. Especially now that the species has established itself as dominant in the animal realm, now would be a good time to use this precious reason to manage the kingdom wisely.

I don't think the human race has overcome nature.
I think we have just imposed upon it and it will eventually kick us back into the last century if we are not careful.
If I may correct your grammar. . .what would have become of us?, is the proper wording for your question.
Living a peaceful environmentally conscious existence is what would have become of us and it would be most becoming of us to have become evolved.

the prior answerers seem quite insightful. western, science based, rational, hyper- materialistic, arrogant, toxic, misguided, soulless, clueless, mainstream culture--it's morals and psychology dictated by the psychopaths who run the planet and who try to exploit everything and everyone, including nature itself, to fullfil their never satisfied need to feed their bloated egos and bodies, may have led us a bit astray, eh? (longest semi coherent sentence i ever wrote;-) those with a clue know that, as noted by the others, we are merely a part of nature and should make every attempt to "live lightly upon the land", but in every portion of our existence. take a look at your "leaders". do you honestly believe that the terminally unsatisfiable and morbidly obese should be your(our) role models? for any aspect of life?

We would have evolved into a species incapable of proper spelling, punctuation and grammar.
