For those who haven't heard the news, The Ford CEO and Toyota's chairman met last week as the first step in partnership negotiations. For those who think it odd that an American icon such as Ford would discuss a merger with a Japanese carmaker, have you ever heard of GLOBALIZATION??????????????

Umm... Im wondering something... who here actually knows of the car manufacturer subdivisions? Everyone makes it out to be like its a big deal... Please allow me to elaborate...

Ford owns: Lincoln, Mercury, Mazda, Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover, and Aston Martin

Daimler Chrysler owns: Maybach, Mercedes-Benz, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Freightliner, Sterling, Western Star, and Setra

GM owns: Chev, Pontiac, GMC, Buick, Saturn, Hummer, Saab, Cadillac, Holden, Opel, and Vauxhall

How hard is it to believe that Ford and Toyota will merge?

Ford (a blundering company with huge suv's that are not selling) + Toyota (the best seller of SUV's [and cars] on the planet) = Ford trying to bounce back into business... sounds like a winner if I was a CEO for Ford.... doesn't it you?

GM and Toyota had such an agreement a few years back. Question then was it a Chevota or a Toyolet.

Umm, one is American made and one is Japanese made, so why would they merge? The Japs are ahead of us anyway. They wouldn't do a think like that. Not unless we got really smart all of a sudden.
