I need make-up tips...?

Question

I feel like I'm in a make-up rut. I always do my makeup the same way and it feels like I always have. My makeup now is pretty minimal. I use foundation, eye liner, mascara, brown eye shadow, blush, and lip gloss.

I have fair-medium complexion, brown eyes, and kind of thin lips (would like to make them look a little fuller but not overdone). I also have a little longer than shoulder length hair & its brown. Have any ideas of something different I could do to my hair because i usually just straighten it and leave it down. Boring I know! haha

I have been dating my boyfriend for a little over a year and I know he has to be tired of always seeing me the same way, so it would be nice to have a different look for the new years. Thanks!

Easiest way to change your look is go for the "smoky" effect on the eyes. It's easy to find in google, or anything like that. Also, as stated above you can use blues to highlight your skin tone. The easiest way to lighten yourself up is to wear blues/purples in your clothing as well. It will lighten your face and make you look more vibrant.

Do not go for reds in your makeup at all if you have a more fair complexion, it will bring out too much red in your cheeks and will look out of place. Look for lipstick that matches your skin tone, and your eyeshadow should compliment the color of your outfit. Don't use outrageous colors on anything but the eye shadow, on the eye shadow, have fun and experiment!

First thing I'd suggest is do away w/the brown eyeshadow. That doesn't bring out brown eyes, in my opinion. How about a goldish, or beige, or green (not bright, of course). Even a soft lavender would look nice. Use black mascara. Brown is pointless. Make sure your foundation is neither too light nor too dark. Blush could be a soft peach or pink. Lip gloss in a nice soft shade. Liven up your look with a little color. All the brown sounds a bit too subtle! Maybe have your hair high and low-lighted for some spark.

just be confident. as long as you dont wear the same clothes.. i think you are going to be ok. ask yourself, would you rather look the same or not wear make up at al. do something fun with your hair though so you have a little change, wear you hair in long curls or get bangs/ a cute hip cut. if you like how you look then dont worry about it. as for your lips, they have a cool new lip gloss at any make up store that is a lip pumper without the needle. lip liner and gloss also does the trick. hope that helps. - chellie

for a hair change, you could do some foam rollers, the twistie kind, and roll it up for some nice loose curls...do when hair is slightly damp, add some light styling product and roll up the hair, leave for a few hours...and voila, volume and curl...if you do a nice soft wave, it looks really romantic...

try punching up your make up routine with some plum or violet coloured makeup which looks so awesome with brown eyes....

use some cinnamon oil or a plumping lip gloss, like Lip Venom to get a fuller look

lip liner can make your lips look fuller...try adding some bright colors into your mix...like blue or green or pink...you might not like any of these colors but they actually look good when you wear like a shirt the same color as your eye shadow

try using light blue tones
for your eyeshadow
and wear PENCIL eyeliner and a thin line of it (is now "in")
try curling your hair
and wearing half up
